Cogswell Sketchbook

Ok, so one of the projects that I have had the opportunity to work on has been the Cogswell Sketchbook. A small number of us artists from Cogswell College were selected to publish a sketchbook which is based off of a Brothers Grimm fairytale called "The Moon". We are all re-imagining the story in each of our own ways and coming up with concept designs for all aspects of the story. My retelling of the tale, takes a sci fi pirate theme. When the book is finished, we are all going to Siggraph this summer (08) to man our own booth and promote the school by selling the sketchbooks. It has been a lot of fun working on this, so here are some designs I have been working on. The picture at the top is my finished designs for my main characters, the rest are all some of my preliminary ideas. I hope you dig em.

Well, Heath, from a surrealist stand point, they are much too mundane. From a traditionalist stand point, they are not qquite life-like enough. From a cubist standpoint, they are far too rounded. From a psuedo but self-proclaimed art aficianado with questionable taste and disreputable opinions, I find the sketches inspired and extraordinary! Keep up the great work! You make my sketches look like stick figures... (interestingly, most of my sketches ARE stick figures!)
